On Saturday March 7th, 2015 our workshop “From Improvisation Theatre to Table Topics Speeches” took place which was conducted by Erna Anna Fleckenstein M.A.. Anna Fleckenstein is a professional actor, director, author, trainer, coach and consultant.
Anna’s strength as a trainer and speaker is to combine psychology, drama and pedagogics in a single person.
The ten participants had the opportunity to find out the basic principles of improvisation theatre which help us prime our minds for impromptu speeches. Further, there were lots of theatre plays, games, table topics exercises and fun. Finally, all of the Toastmasters that took part showed courage and gave outstanding impromptu speeches in the exercise section. They instantly improved their public speaking skill at lot.
As a participant put it at the end of the workshop: “What extremely amazed me today was to find out that we easily can turn ourselves from introverts into extroverts which show lively body language and elaborate their speeches on their feet.” Another: “Today, the workshop was really worth the effort. What I learned today can be applied to both the table topics speeches in club meetings and to my professional life, too.”
